Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is naturopathic medicine, and how does it differ from conventional medicine?

Naturopathy accounts for the individual‘s physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, spiritual and other factors to eliminate the underlying causes of illness. Naturopathy utilizes all of the scientific research and all of the modalities that are beneficial for the client, both from conventional medicine and from alternative/holistic medicine.

The human body has a fundamental intuitive ability to withstand and recover from the constant assaults from environment, lifestyle, and an unhealthy food supply. Clients are encouraged to take charge of their own well-being and control their health destiny.

Emphasis is on prevention, support, and optimizing health through the use of all natural, non-invasive therapies and natural substances that encourage the body’s inherent ability to self-heal. This is an inside out approach or “terrain theory”. Whereas conventional medicine is based on “germ theory” and focused on outside in approach.

We strongly recommend that all clients consult with a licensed health care professional who is trained to recognize when conventional medical approaches are indicated as well as how to integrate conventional medicine with naturopathic treatment.
